Racine reinforces its Banking-Finance-Insurance department with the arrival of Rima Maitrehenry to set up a Fund Formation practice

Racine is delighted to welcome Rima Maitrehenry as a partner, to reinforce its Banking-Finance-Insurance practice and set up a fund formation practice.

The department is now composed of 12 lawyers, including 5 partners: Barna Evva (Financing), Sandra Graslin-Latour (Banking and Financial Litigation), Antoine Hontebeyrie (Banking and Financial Litigation and Security Law), David Masson (Banking, Finance and Insurance Regulation) and Rima Maitrehenry (Fund Formation).

Rima Maitrehenry is specialized in fund formation. She advises French and international fund managers on their regulatory approvals and organization, and assists them in the structuring of their private equity funds. She also has in-depth knowledge of the terms and market conditions of private equity funds thanks to the various negotiations she has handled on behalf of fund sponsors and fund investors (institutional investors, family offices, corporates, etc.). In addition, she works on transactions involving the sale or acquisition of fund portfolios or direct investments, as well as hybrid transactions involving both fund formation and secondary transactions. She assists her clients in all regulatory issues related to the private equity fund environment and assists them in various subjects related to the governance of investment funds such as the governance of management teams, carried interest allocations and conflicts of interests.

Her practice covers fund formation for sponsors, management companies and first time funds first time teams; the review of terms and conditions of their investment in a fund; secondary transactions and regulatory issues relating to fund’s operations.

Prior to joining Racine, Rima worked at Gide Loyrette Nouel, Morgan Lewis & Brockius and Debevoise & Plimpton. She holds a PhD in International Law from the University of Paris-Sorbonne and a Master’s degree in International Law and Management from HEC. She is also a regular lecturer at the American Business School of Paris.
